Established in 2006, Seven 82 Motors specialises in classic, lowriders and muscle cars. However, the Gold Coast based brand is more than just a dealership, and is making its mark on the industry by ensuring that the workshop is an experience in itself.
The Seven 82 Motors concept and eventual brand was born on the back of owner Ben Atkinson trying to track down another XB GS Falcon Coupe, just like his beloved Dad’s one. Ben quickly realised that the options in Australia were limited when it came to sourcing unique and world class vintage vehicles, and began to brainstorm ways to eliminate all of the complexities associated with common problems that both buyers and sellers faced.
However, Seven 82 Motors is different from other vintage car dealerships. While the in house workshop offers anything and everything from general servicing, mechanical work, after sales care and even full turn key builds and restorations, Seven 82 Motors also does one particular thing quite differently to other brands, being that they sell classic cars on consignment. This model allows owners to retain greater control over their prized possessions, while still having access to the safety of the purpose-built fully gated showroom equipped with modern security systems, which the team at Seven 82 Motors refer to as “being built like a fortress”.
Needless to say, Ben’s attention to detail and passion for restoration has ensured that the Seven 82 Motors showroom is a work of art in itself. On the first Saturday of each month, the Nerang showroom is open to the public, who are encouraged to come down and explore the cars, in house barbershop and memorabilia room, all while having access to a local coffee van and food trucks for the day.
While each month heralds the arrival of a new batch of classic, lowrider and muscle cars destined for new owners, this month Seven 82 Motors are doing things a little differently – for the first time, all makes and models will be up for auction online.
How The Online Car Auction Works
From Friday 4 June, the Seven 82 Motors collection of some of the most sought after muscle, vintage, and restomod cars in the country will be going live for auction. With bidding closing on Monday 14 June, now is your chance to get your hands on a new prized possession to take home and cherish accordingly.
Based on the figures thus far, it would seem that Australian classic car lovers have taken the call to action seriously. Just a handful of the most popular vehicles already receiving their fair share of attention via the Seven 82 Motors classic car auction include –
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Big Block Yenko Clone – Heralded as one of the highest quality restorations Seven 82 Motors have ever seen, the Yenko Clone was built from the ground up using mostly NOS parts. With a big block V8 under the bonnet and a four speed manual transmission, it even has all of the delivery markings like it would have from the factory.
1964 Holden EH Custom Sedan – While this extensive rebuild of this Australian icon took three and a half years to complete, the result sees it back in its former glory. Coated in a “Liberty Blue” De Beer two pack paint, under the bonnet lies a fully rebuilt 380ci Small block Chev V8 paired with a Turbo 700 four speed automatic transmission.
1969 Dodge Charger – Just one year off the model infamously driven by Vin Diesel in the “Fast and The Furious” franchise, this gloss black muscle car is a head turner that traces its origins all the way back to California. Under the hood is a 440ci six pack Mopar V8 stroked to 500ci, and upgrades include MSD ignition, Crane Cam and full exhaust.
1970 Ford Falcon XW GT Replica – Originally a Falcon 500, this vehicle received a complete nut and bolt ground up build by it’s previous owner. The engine is a 351 Windsor stroked to 408ci and features Forged Scat crank, H-Beam rods, Forged SRP pistons, ARP main stud kit and head bolts, ASR oil pan, high volume oil pump, hydraulic roller cam and much, much more.
1938 Ford Pick Up – This classic truck has been fully restored, mildly customised in a period fashion, and has retained its original three speed manual floor charge transmission. While the flathead V8 engine has been rebuilt and is well presented inside the engine bay, the truck’s exterior has been repainted in a two tone red with metallic black guards.
