At the heart of this Firedome is the STRONG !! – FACTORY ORIGINAL – Code “S19” – 276 CID “Firedome” V8 motor in it that is running very well indeed. The engine also sports the ORIGINAL intake manifold, ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds, ORIGINAL “Firedome” scripted valve covers, ORIGINAL “oil bath” air cleaner housing and the ORIGINAL carburettor, etc… . Sounds great too with the factory style exhaust system. The engine is backed by a – smooth- Two Speed “PowerFlite” automatic transmission which is also functioning very well. The BEAUTIFUL – FACTORY ORIGINAL – Code “1” – Tropical Blue Cloth and Fountain Blue cloth Firedome interior is in VERY NICE condition including a NICE ORIGINAL Fountain Blue Leather and Tropical Blue Cloth front seat, NICE Dark Blue carpeting, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Matching Tropical Blue Cloth and Fountain Blue Vinyl door panels, excellent DeSoto steering wheel, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Tropical Blue dash, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Medium Blue Cloth headliner, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Medium Blue Cloth sun visors, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, NICE ORIGINAL Fountain Blue Leather and Tropical Blue Cloth rear seat and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Tropical Blue Vinyl dash pad with NO CRACKS !!
In my opinion you’re not going to find a much nicer MOSTLY ORIGINAL interior in a 63 year old DeSoto than the one that is in this BEAUTY, UNBELIEVABLE !! All of the ORIGINAL black rubber weather-stripping is soft, supple and in GREAT condition for being ORIGINAL. The Harbour Blue exterior finish is EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL !! showing only a few small chips and imperfections that have been touched up but still looks bright and shiny and STUNNING !! This Firedome came nicely equipped including factory power steering, factory power windows, working factory 4-way power adjustable front seat, factory front and rear wing windows, factory power wipers, factory gauge clusters with 120 MPH speedometer, good heater and defroster, working original clock, factory pop-up fresh air vent, factory front mounted sun visor still in original box not installed and factory back-up lights. This DeSoto Firedome has GORGEOUS looks and SMOOTH V8 power as well… To be clear if you were gifted a reasonable car, you could not restore a car to this standard for the double what this car is being offered for.
